Qualcomm and Tarjama Join Hands to Bring Arabic AI to Businesses

Background-

Qualcomm Technologies and Tarjama have agreed to explore ready-to-use Arabic AI tools for companies and governments across the Middle East. The two firms signed a memorandum of understanding at LEAP 2026 in Riyadh.

Tarjama, which builds Arabic language and AI products, will bring its Arabic.AI platform, its Arabic-native models, and its business applications. Qualcomm will handle speed, scaling, and deployment. Together, they want to help organizations take AI projects out of the test phase and put them to work.

The partners plan to load selected Arabic models onto Qualcomm’s Dragonfly AI infrastructure. The team will then test each model for speed, accuracy, and readiness to run in live settings. Projects span generative AI, conversational AI, reasoning tools, and agentic AI systems.

Arabic poses its own hurdles for AI. Models must understand dialects, cultural context, and industry terms, and they must still run reliably at scale. Demand for local and sovereign AI keeps rising, and HUMAIN recently invested in the Arabic.AI platform.

The companies will also look at benchmarking and model tuning for government, telecom, financial services, healthcare, and education.

Charles Chebli, Managing Director of UAE and Head of AI Cloud Middle East Africa at Qualcomm Technologies, said the deal will support fast, efficient Arabic AI for enterprise and government users. Nour Al Hassan, Founder and CEO of Tarjama, said the link between language skill and deployment strength will help clients move from trials to production.
