The UAE’s hotel industry is growing steadily, welcoming more than 16.1 million guests in the first half of 2025. According to Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, this is a 5.5 percent increase compared to the same time last year
At the third Hospitality Advisory Council meeting of 2025, Al Marri said the sector’s strong performance shows its ability to compete well both regionally and globally. He added that the UAE is becoming more attractive to tourists from nearby countries and around the world.
The latest data showed that visitors stayed for a total of 56 million hotel nights, which is a 7.3 percent rise from the first half of 2024. On average, guests stayed for 3.5 nights. The country has 1,243 hotels with over 216,000 rooms. These figures not only indicate increased visits but also extended lodging, with people spending more days relaxing in the attractions of the UAE.
Al Marri noted that a close collaboration between the government and the business sector contributes significantly to the success of the sector. This collaboration assists in sustaining long-term growth and sustainability, and the aim of the UAE to become one of the leading tourist destinations in the world.
Experts in the industry reported that the growth has actual positive impacts on the visitors, including increased hotel options, increased services, and increased stay periods. They further mentioned that the UAE is a good example as it aims at sustainability and enhancing guest experiences.
