Background

Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has launched its first Youth Council to give younger employees a stronger role in shaping the bank’s future. The initiative will allow young staff to share ideas, work on projects and engage directly with senior management.

The council has eight members from different backgrounds and will run for two years. Members will meet regularly with senior leaders and discuss projects linked to customer service, employee engagement, brand development and innovation.

The new platform is designed to give young employees more than a chance to share opinions. It will allow them to take responsibility for projects, gain practical experience and build leadership skills. The council will also give senior management a direct view of the ideas and concerns of younger employees.

The launch took place around International Youth Day in August. As part of the event, council members took part in a discussion with DIB’s Group Chief Executive Officer under the theme “A Conversation with Future Leaders”. They discussed their goals, responsibilities and ways they could contribute to the bank’s growth.

DIB said the initiative forms part of its wider focus on developing young talent and preparing future leaders. The bank also runs programmes through DIB Academy and financial education initiatives aimed at young people.

The Youth Council is expected to create opportunities for employees to work across different areas of the organisation while developing their skills and confidence.

DIB said investing in young employees supports both the bank’s long-term growth and the wider development of the UAE. The initiative also aligns with national efforts to give young people a greater role in the country’s economic and social progress.
