Background
Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) is offering up to five years of rental incentives to attract businesses to Al Suwaiq Industrial City, one of the country’s newest industrial developments.
The incentive package includes a two-year exemption from land rent, followed by a 50% discount for the next three years. Madayn said the initiative is designed to reduce start-up and operating costs for investors during the early stages of their projects.
The incentives were presented during a meeting with investors and business owners aimed at promoting investment opportunities within the industrial city. Officials said the package is supported by flexible land allocation policies and opportunities across industrial, logistics and service sectors.
Located on the Al Batinah Expressway, Al Suwaiq Industrial City is being developed as a key industrial and logistics hub with access to major ports, airports and regional markets. The project spans more than 12.2 million sq m and includes 1,430 investment plots, comprising industrial and logistics sites.
Madayn said investments committed to the project have already exceeded RO2.1 million, reflecting growing interest from businesses. The city is targeting sectors such as petrochemicals, building materials, recycling, logistics, food processing and modern agriculture.
The authority added that detailed infrastructure designs have been completed and a tender for implementation has been issued. Construction of roads and supporting services is scheduled to begin later this year.
Al Suwaiq Industrial City is part of Oman’s broader strategy to diversify the economy, attract local and foreign investment, and create long-term employment opportunities under Oman Vision 2040.
