Background
The UAE government, led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has launched a new program to train 10,000 young Emiratis and create 30,000 jobs by 2030. The initiative is supported by StartupEmirates.ae, a digital platform that gives entrepreneurs access to mentorship, training courses, networking events, co-working spaces, and funding for their businesses.
The program was launched on September 21, 2025. More than 50 government and private partners are connected with the program, among which are the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, the UAE Government Media Office, and the UAE Entrepreneurship Council. The platform was developed with the New Economy Academy.
StartupEmirates.ae offers beginner and advanced courses that teach business basics, company setup, growth strategies, and global expansion. It also includes special programs for content creation, certified project managers, VAT and tax certification, and real estate startups. Entrepreneurs can showcase their projects at the National Student & Graduate Business Expo, where they can meet investors and accelerators.
Young people can register on StartupEmirates.ae, fill in personal details, share their business ideas, and choose a training track. Registered participants get mentorship, access to co-working spaces, business tools, and networking opportunities.
This initiative will help the UAE to diversify the economy beyond oil, with startups and small businesses already constituting over 63% of non-oil GDP. The program enables the youth to begin successful businesses and makes the UAE one of the world’s innovation hubs by empowering them, providing them with resources and skills.
